Dear Parents:

 Welcome to Trent InternationalE, I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing summer. With summer ending, I know your child is ready to begin an exciting year in fourth grade. I am very happy to be working with your child this year and I have an amazing year planned.

My educational background includes earning a Bachelor of Science Degree with a minor in music. I taught fourth and fifth grade in FBISD (Fort Bend Independent School District) as a certified teacher for twenty-three years before I came to Trent InternationalE.

In the past I have worked with many other programs. I was a Master Teacher for the Rice University School of Mathematics Project for 3 years. I taught Kids College and worked with the GED Program for Wharton County Junior College.

I have presented many in-services for other teachers for Rice University, FBISD, and NCTM (National Council for the Teachers of Mathematics) on the local and regional level. I had an article published in Arithmetic Teacher Magazine (NCTM), and I was chosen by WGBH out of Boston to make a training videotape for new teachers. I have received 6 grants for over $5,000 which included a Dr. Hooper Grant and created many math programs over the years.

I did live in Germany for 3 years, but I have lived in Texas most of my life. I have 2 children and 3 step-children that are grown with families of their own.

I believe in children and their ability to respond to encouragement. I am ready and excited to work with your child this year. In teaching your child I work very hard to convince them that they are capable of being successful. Each child is convinced to show their potential by being encouraged to work step-by-step to build their knowledge by learning from their mistakes until the concept is mastered. Mastery is a necessity in building self-confidence.
