Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to First Grade! My name is Monica Babaian, and I will be your child’s teacher for the 2011-12 school year.
I am excited about beginning my first year at Trent InternationalE. Previously, I have worked as a secondary education teacher and an elementary school librarian in Fort Bend ISD. I received my Bachelor of Arts in History and German Studies from the University of Houston. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas. I have been married for eleven years and have two children who are students in Fort Bend ISD.
As a parent, I know how much children love to have family members involved with their education. When students see their parents, grandparents and/or older siblings taking an interest in what is happening in the classroom, they are encouraged to do their best. Because our children’s success depends so much on family support, I will ask for your help during special events during this school year.

My approach to teaching is to create a sense of community in the classroom, where we all help each other learn and grow. We also recognize the responsibilities we have to ourselves as well as others. We learn about communication, respect, and exploring the world around us.
I really enjoy working with children, and I am looking forward to getting to know your child and his/her individual interests and personality. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at (281) 491-4680 or
